Average time to take down one light fixture and put one up in its place 20 minutes. Average time to put up a fan one-hour. Average time to turn a light fixture into a fan when you have to change the box 2 hours. On this kind of work I charge by the hour plus parts. Two-hour minimum.
If you have a outlet not working or lighting. If you think a breaker is bad. Finding and repairing bad circuits. Finding the problem and fixing it is repair work. On this kind of work I charge by the hour plus parts minimum Two hour.
When you are building a new home, new garage, new pool, or new shed. When you're running new power to an existing garage, shed, or out building. This is new construction. I'm sorry but for small projects it is a phone estimate. For anything over 1000 bucks is a free on-site estimate.
Remodel work is adding electrical systems where none exist already. An example of this is adding a new outlet on the wall behind a flatscreen TV. Adding a ceiling fan were no light fixture was in the beginning. Moving switches. Free all over the phone estimate. Remodels are very hard to estimate.
What you will have to tell me the number of fixtures to be replaced, what kind of fixtures they are replacing, are they fans and if so are they replacing lights. How high are your ceilings are they over 8 feet if so I will have to bring a 10 foot ladder. Do you already have the light fixtures or fan.
Things you'll have to tell me. What is not working. Is it one thing or multiple things. If it is an outlet are other outlets not working? If so have you checked the breakers? You can check the breakers by running your finger down the breakers putting very little pressure towards the off position they should all feel solid if any of them move any little bit that breaker may be tripped. Repair work is by the hour. One hour minimum.
Things you'll have to tell me.Where the existing power is, all of fixtures you want, the amperage of the box or fixture, and if it is an out building how far from the original power supply it is.
Things you'll have to tell me.If it is a new outlet. Does it need to be on a circuit by itself or can I hook into an outlet nearby? If it's a new light in a room do you want it hooked into the existing switch for that room? Do you want a new switch ran for a new light or existing light? Do you want something electrical moved?
